Theory Test
This is a test regarding your knowledge of the rules and regulations of owning and using a motor vehicle on the public highway. The best source of the information is from the "Highway Code" I strongly suggest you buy a copy, or by signing up to use my Theory Test Pro you can get a free online version.
The test will be a multiple choice with 50 questions. The pass is 43/50 to be completed in 57 minutes. The second stage is a video based exam watching 15 video's this will be your hazard perception stage. To pass this you will require a pass of 44/75 it will take about 15 minutes to complete this stage.
You must pass both exams on the same day to pass overall.
With practice you can achieve this very easily.

Practical Car Test
Now you have passed you theory test you can now take your car test.
The object of the test is to ensure that the candidate is well grounded in the basic principles of safe driving, and is sufficiently practiced in them to be able to show, at the time of the test, that they are a competent and considerate driver and are not a source of danger to themselves or to other road users.
You will be asked to perform a reversing manoeuvre. A independent drive for about 10 minutes. There might be an emergency stop. You will do the above on different types of roads, if you have practiced and understand whats is required then should be no problem.
Marking is done currently by a fault process, you can still pass with upto 15 minor/driver faults these are where you perhaps forgot to look in your mirror at a certain time no danger posed for yourself or others.
A serious or dangerous fault, is not aloud either one of these on your car test. Serious could be driving above the speed limit for the road your on. Dangerous could be a near miss such as turning into a round and getting to close to other traffic with your steering.
